Is Thunderous Smite 5e spell good?
Any given spell ranges between reasonable and great, depending on the situation in which you use it. While Thunderous Smite isn’t as effective as Divine Smite, 2d6 of additional damage is not to be sniffed at, and knocking your enemy into a prone state, if timed correctly, makes all the difference.
The circumstance will dictate its importance, but having this spell in the party’s arsenal of nasty tricks is always worth it.
