Labor Day is here, and what better way to spend the holiday than with friends and family?
What is Labor Day?
Labor Day is a national holiday in the US officially celebrated on the first Monday of September. Worldwide a similar holiday is typically celebrated on May 1st.
But, what is Labor Day?
It’s the celebration of workers. It celebrates the effort and time that the workers put into their craft, and how without them society as we know it would be much different. It was originally started by workers’ unions as a way to acknowledge and honor workers of all crafts, but it has evolved into much more.
Today Labor Day is the unofficial end of Summer and is a perfect time to celebrate its end as well as the upcoming fall. Timing-wise it also signals the start of Fall sports in the US and the end of Summer Break for most schools.
