What is Blade Ward?

Blade Ward is an abjuration cantrip. This spell is available to Bards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards. It costs one action to make and requires verbal and somatic components.

The caster traces a symbol in the air and utters a word. The spell protects them from bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage until the end of their next turn.

Is Blade Ward a good spell?

Blade Ward is not a good spell. It isn’t totally useless, but it is hard to predict when to use this spell in the game. The caster would have to know what type of damage an enemy will cause, which isn’t easy.

Also, the cantrip does not last long enough to be helpful. It would be best to use the Dodge action if it is necessary to avoid damage for a turn.
