Steve Jackson’s Munchkin first hit shelves in 2001 and has since been around to make players laugh and annoyed in equal measures.
Munchkin took the fantasy themes of Dungeons & Dragons and then immediately ran them over with a clown car filled with penguins. I know that doesn’t make much sense, but that’s the level of absurdity that Munchkin strives for. Its quirky artwork and backstabbing gameplay is an absolute blast to play as long as you don’t take it too seriously.
There are dozens of different expansions parodying all aspects of nerdom, and Munchkin revels in poking fun at all aspects of it. If you’ve played the original to death, and are sick of facing down a plutonium dragon with only a rat on a stick, it might be time to mix it up with one of the many, many expansions.
Today we’re looking at the best Munchkin game expansions.
