Hungry for another game? Cooking and math collide in this STEM favorite.  

The Fantastic Food Truck is one of the many games from Osmo’s Math Wizard collection. You’ll need the Osmo Base (sold separately) and an iPad or tablet to start cooking away. However, you can play offline so no need to worry about those pesky internet distractions. 

This Tangram-like game gets kids to use their geometry knowledge with a real-world purpose.  Play chef at the food truck to help complete the hungry customers’ orders. Make the ingredients or dishes by piecing together shapes on the board. The board is connected to the app to guide the player as they boil, chop, or fry that food. The self-paced nature means kids can move as fast or as leisurely as they’d like.

A fish stick, or card, comes with 4 different fish images.  Players take turns adding a card to the table next to a matching fish.  The card must match a fish of the same color and direction. Each match scores you a point. Practice those pattern recognition and strategy skills to score the most points possible. The first player with 10 points, including all 6 different fish, wins.

Dive head-first into this sea-inspired game. I Sea 10! Is a game of speed, competition, and addition. Take turns flipping pieces. Players: 2-4
Playing Time: 15 Minutes

Get on track with Dino Math Tracks!

Learn place value, addition, and subtraction along this dinosaur racetrack. Each player gets 4 dinosaurs to race in each place value position: 1s, 10s, 100s, and 1000s. Take turns rolling 4 dice to create a 4 digit number and move the corresponding dinosaur along that racetrack. You better be clever while herding those dinos to get them all across the finish line first.  But uh oh! Don’t let that bratty brachiosaurus bump you off track!

#9. High Seas ADDventure

Players: 2-4
Playing Time: 15-30 Minutes

Dive into this High Seas ADDventure.

With simple rules and a little competition, kids will love this addition-based game. Pick a sea creature to swim to the treasure. Each player should have 5 number cards face up in front of themselves at all times. The rest of the deck stays in the middle.  Players take turns turning one card from the deck over at a time.

The goal is to combine one of your cards with the middle card to total ten.  The first player who can do this and yells “Ten!” gets the pair and moves forward a space. Shark and Octopus cards are wild so swim fast to grab them! Reach the end first and the treasure is yours!

Brrrrr, it’s cold out! Your kids will enjoy being workers at the Monster Sock Factory in this snow-filled valley. But hurry up and get to work! All the snow monsters need socks to keep their feet warm. Complete multiplication problems to package and ship those socks out. 

Monster Sock Factory has your kids using critical thinking to decide which math equation benefits them best. Each player gets 9 stacks of monsters with 1-9 legs each. Fill orders and complete any 6 stacks of monsters to win. 

Order in! To place an order, turn over an Order card. If it says “12”, an order of 12 socks just came in! You must pack and ship 12 socks. Choose how to disperse the 12 socks amongst the monsters.  You might decide to give the socks to three 4-legged monsters (3 x 4=12).  Make sure to announce your completed problem, “3 times 4 is 12. Packed!” You completed an order. What a sock-ccess!  

The rule book comes with more ways to play and helpful hints to scaffold learning. Advanced cards can provide more of a challenge as you start to master those multiplication skills!
